Today is a huge day for marriage equality. Same-sex couples can now marry in NY, starting today.




I know we still have a long way to go before there is true equality across the US, but this is a victory and victories should be celebrated. So congrats to everyone- gay and straight- getting married in NY today. I hope your marriages are blessed with much joy.

Today's thought of the day: Why is it equality when women wear pants but freakish when men wear skirts?

Why does it even matter what people choose to wear? Aren't there more important and interesting things going on in the world than a 5 yr old boy who wants to be a princess or a mom who paints her son's toenails pink? What's the issue here? Just because you (meant in a broad sense and not specifically you, dear reader) don't jive to it, doesn't make it wrong. I know no one else marches to the beat of my Little Drummer and I wouldn't expect them to (my Little Drummer is tricky and enjoys tripping me up from time to time. BEWARE!)
